Damaged Coil.
Recovered Value.

Collapsed, crushed, telescoped or oscillated — a damaged coil is not automatically a scrapped coil. Storm restores it, so the material, the schedule and the order stay intact.

The cost of scrapping

A damaged coil is still your material.

A collapsed, crushed or telescoped coil looks like a write-off. Often it isn't. The steel, aluminum or copper is still there — what's damaged is its shape, not its value.

Scrapping a repairable coil means absorbing the full material cost, re-ordering, waiting on a new production run, and explaining a delay to your own customer. Repair keeps the material, the schedule and the relationship intact.

Storm evaluates every coil on that basis: what it will cost to repair and return to production, against what it costs to scrap and replace it.

What we repair

Capabilities

Collapsed & Crushed Coils

Restoring coils that have lost their round shape back to dimensions that run at normal production speed.

Telescoped Coils

Correcting coils that have shifted laterally during winding, handling or transit.

Oscillated Coils

Straightening coils affected by uneven or oscillated winding.

Coil ID & OD Correction

Restoring inner and outer diameter to the dimensions your line was set up to run.

Edge Damage

Addressing edge damage that would otherwise disqualify a coil from production.

On-Site & Shop Repair

Work performed at our Hamilton facility or on location, depending on the coil and the job.

What we work with

Materials

Steel

The majority of coils Storm repairs. Requirements vary with gauge, width and the type of damage.

Stainless

Handled with attention to the surface finish and corrosion resistance stainless coil requires.

Aluminum

Softer handling characteristics call for a different repair approach than steel.

Copper

Repaired with the same attention to surface condition and finish that copper coil demands.

Hot Roll Galvanized

Repaired with attention to the coating on galvanized coil throughout the process.

Bronze

Repaired with the same care given to copper and other non-ferrous coil.

Roll Formed Products

Storm also works with roll formed products beyond coil — requirements assessed per job.

Repair requirements are set by material, damage condition, dimensions and handling — not by a fixed formula. Send details and we'll evaluate the specific coil.

The result

Damaged. Restored.
